Mediation
The purpose of a mediation is to help individuals have a difficult conversation in a new and hopefully productive way. A transformative mediation-trained peer gives parties the tools to clarify their goals, identify opportunities for making choices, and explore new points of view. Parties stay in control about how to continue with their dispute during the mediation as there are many possible outcomes. Participants may reach an agreement, clarify their goals, gain a better understanding of the other person, compromise on issues, decide to move beyond the issue, agree to disagree, or go their separate ways.
